RoboCup in Spain

One of the major goals of the National Committee is to promote the RoboCup in Spain. Until now, Spain has been really under-represented in RoboCup competitions (when compared to GDP ranking, or research indexes). Only the 4-legged team Teamchaos has had a sustained participation in the last years (since 2004 using TeamChaos name (http://www.teamchaos.es). In the last edition, two more teams entered the competition: CAOS (http://www.caos.inf.uc3m.es/caoscoachteam/index.htm) in the coaching league, and Complubot (http://complubot.educa.madrid.org/) in the Junior league, which has encouraged us to create the Spanish National Committe in order to promote the RoboCup initiative in Spain.

Previously, only the RoGi Team (http://rogiteam.udg.es/) had participated in the small size league (from 1997 to 2000), as well as individual participations in the simulation league also in 1997 by Vicente Matellán, and by Humberto Martínez in the 4-legged as part of the Team Sweden (http://www.aass.oru.se/Agora/RoboCup/) from 2001 to 2003.

In 2006 the first team of the RoboCup Junior League entered the competitions (Complubot (http://www.complubot.org)) as well a new simulated team (CAOS (http://www.robocupspain.es/index.php/CAOS)). In 2007 new teams have registered for the German Open (un-official european tournament) in the Humanoid and RoboCup@Home leagues.
